“So what are we doing today?” yawned Nick.
“For the last time Nick, we have an interview this morning and then we have the afternoon off” said Kevin, sighing.
“I was only asking.”
“Yeah, and you’ve ‘only been asking’ since last night.”
“I can’t help it” mumbled Nick. “Why do you always have to be so grouchy towards me?”
Kevin opened his mouth to argue back, but Brian butted in.
“That’s enough you two.”
Kevin and Nick glared at each other before turning their backs on each other and finishing their breakfast. While the others were discussing what they were planning on doing that afternoon, Nick was busy playing with his food. ‘Why is Kevin always beating down on me’ he thought to himself. ‘He doesn’t do it to the others.’
“Stupid ass” he mumbled under his breath.
“Do you have something you want to say Nick?” said Kevin, making Nick jump. He hadn’t meant to say that out loud.
“No” he replied quietly.
“Are you sure?” pushed Kevin.
Nick looked up at Kevin who was now staring at him. The others were still talking and seemed oblivious to Nick’s discomfort. He looked away and said: “I’m sure.”
As Kevin didn’t say any more, Nick assumed he had given up and looked back at him. His eyes grew wide when he found Kevin still staring at him with a glazed look in his eyes. He subconsciously licked his lips and tried to ignore the tightening in his trousers.
“Kev” he said quietly.
“Yes, Nicky” he replied, his voice deep and husky.
“Um, well, you’re staring at me.”
“Do you have a problem with that, Nicky” he paused before saying Nicky, accentuating his name.
“Uh, well. No, I mean, yes.”
He could feel himself getting harder under Kevin’s stare, and he was finding it hard to put a sentence together. Kevin smiled and then stood up.
“C’mon guys, we’d better get going. The van leaves in 10 minutes.”
Nick said a quick thank you prayer in his head as he stood up and walked quickly to the elevator. He got in and pressed the button for his floor. As the doors began to close he sighed in relief, glad to be alone. He closed his eyes and leaned against the side. A foot forced the doors to reopen; making Nick’s eyes shoot up to greet the intruder.
“In a rush Nicky?” asked Kevin, smiling.
“Not really.”
He moved behind Nick and stood there in silence as the elevator went up. Nick could feel Kevin’s breath on his neck and it was causing a stir in his groin. When the doors opened, Nick shot out and ran to his room, locking the door behind him. Taking a deep breath he grabbed his jacket, and his bag which contained his mobile, wallet, key card and a few essentials to keep him occupied in the van. Once he was ready, he checked himself out in the mirror.
“God Nick get a grip” he said to his reflection. “It’s only Kevin. He’s like your brother, and he’s male. You’re not gay, just in need of some sex.” Taking another deep breath he ran his hand through his blond hair and left to meet the others downstairs.
In the van, Nick made sure he sat in the back, the furthest away from Kevin as possible. He put on his mini disc player and closed his eyes. As they had that night off he decided he was going to get himself some action. He hadn’t been with a girl since he’d split from his long-term girlfriend, and that was over 2 months. Since then they’d been on tour and Kevin hadn’t let Nick out of his sight. They weren’t allowed to go out into any of the clubs in the towns in case fans spotted them. That meant they had to stay in the hotel bar or their rooms on their nights off. On a rare occasion Kevin allowed them to eat out in a restaurant, but mostly they stayed at the hotel. When they got to the radio station for the interview they were ushered out of the van and into the studio. By mere chance or more likely not as Nick thought, he ended up having to sit next to Kevin. Throughout the interview Nick could feel Kevin’s leg brushing against his own. He made it looked accidental but Nick knew he was doing it on purpose. When the interview had finished Nick was the first up and into the van. As they made their way back to the hotel Nick broke the silence.
“So who’s up for a night of partying then?”
“Not me” said Brian.
“I think I’ll pass too” said Howie.
“AJ?” asked Nick, praying that he wouldn’t let him down.
“Need you ask Nicky boy? Me and partying go together hand in hand baby.”
Nick sighed gratefully.
“Am I invited Nick?” said Kevin.
“Uh yeah. Course Kev” mumbled Nick, surprised that he was even letting them go, let alone wanting to go too.
“So what time we heading out?” asked AJ.
“9?”
“Sounds good to me,” said AJ.
For the rest of the ride back to the hotel Nick kept his eyes staring out of the window. He could feel Kevin looking at him through the mirror but he refused to meet his gaze.
‘Get a grip Nick’ he thought to himself. ‘Get yourself a girl and you’ll stop being so affected by Kevin.’
When they got back to the hotel they all went out for lunch. Deciding not to go too close to the centre of town, they went to McDonalds. Through most of the meal Nick stayed silent, ignoring Kevin’s foot brushing against his under the table.
“So what’s up with you today Nick?” mumbled Brian through his burger.
“Huh” said Nick, looking up at his best mate.
“I said, what’s up? You’ve been awfully quiet today. You feeling ok?”
“I’m fine,” said Nick.
Brian looked at him with disbelief in his eyes, but he knew not to push it any further. He would get it out of him when they were alone. It had always been that way. If Nick was ever feeling low or had something on his mind, it was always Brian that could get him to talk.
“It’ll be ok Rok, he’s coming out with the Bone daddy tonight. We’re gonna have some serious fun. Ain’t that right Nicky boy?”
“My name is Nick and yes we are.”
“You’d better keep it until control Aje” said Kevin, taking the serious, I’m in charge, tone.
“Yeah yeah” said AJ, sarcastically.
“I’m not a child Kevin” mumbled Nick.
“I never said you were Nick. But we all know that AJ can sometimes take things too far.”
“Hey, that’s a bit unfair Kev” protested AJ.
“For once in your life will you just leave me alone,” Nick said to Kevin, raising his voice slightly.
“Woah Nick, keep your voice down” said Howie.
“No D, I’m tired of all this. I’m not a child anymore. I can look after myself. I don’t need a minder.”
“You’re right Nick, you don’t. But you also don’t need to turn out like AJ” said Kevin.
“Watch it…”
“AJ shut up.”
AJ looked at Kevin with annoyance in his eyes.
“Leave me alone Kevin. I will go out with whom I please. I will go where I want and I will do what I want.”
“Nick….”
“No Kevin. Leave me alone” said Nick, standing up and walking outside to the van.
Once outside he leaned against the wall and closed his eyes. He was close to tears but he refused to let them go. He wouldn’t cry in front of anyone. They all treated him like a child, other than Brian, so he wasn’t going to give them anymore reason to tease him. He heard the door open beside and looked up. It was Brian.
“You ok?”
Nick nodded in reply. Brian stood next him in silence. He knew Nick would talk when he was ready. They stood in silence for over 5 minutes before Nick spoke.
“Why do they still treat me like a child Bri? Do they not see I’ve grown up?”
“I know Nick, I know. They just want to protect you.”
“I don’t need them to. And Kevin’s the worst.”
“You should realize by now Nick. He feels responsible for you. He always has.”
Nick closed his eyes, fighting back the tears.
“It’ll be ok Nick. Go out tonight and have some fun. Ignore Kevin.”
“That’s not going to be easy Rok. He’ll be watching over me like a hawk. I’ll only have to look at a girl and he’ll be dragging me home.”
“Look, don’t tell Kevin I told you this, but talk to AJ. Tell him you want a girl and some space from Kevin. He’ll help you out.”
“How’s he going to do that?”
“Trust me Nick. If you want some space, AJ will get you some space. He has ways of making you disappear.”
“Ok.”
“Go out and have some fun Nick. You need it.”
“Thanks Bri.”
“You wanna go back and finish your burger?”
“Not really. I’ve lost my appetite now.”
“That’s a first,” said Brian, grinning.
“Hey” said Nick, playfully hitting him.
“C’mon. We’d better get into the van before the others come out.”
When the other 3 joined them in the van, Nick had his music on full blast and his head stuck in a comic. An obvious sign he wasn’t going to talk to anyone.
“He ok?” mimed AJ.
Brian nodded and then leant over to whisper in AJ’s ear. “Look after him tonight AJ. He needs some space.”
AJ looked Brian in the eyes and then nodded in understanding.
When they got back to the hotel Nick hung back from the others. AJ scooted back with him and said: “Bri says you need some space tonight.”
Nick looked at him and then nodded.
“Leave it with me” he said, before bouncing back up to the front.
As they all crammed into the elevator Nick felt someone’s eyes on him. He knew without even looking up that it was Kevin. He could feel his breathing becoming irregular and his eyes filling up. He looked up at the flashing numbers, wishing they were at their floor already. On the other side of the elevator, Kevin was looking worriedly at Nick. He could see the younger man was tense and upset about something. He knew he was part of the problem, but he couldn’t figure out what the rest was. Whatever it was, it was seriously playing on Nick’s mind. He decided to keep an eye on Nick that night. That was the only reason he was going. Well, that was a lie. He wanted to see Nick dance. He wanted to see his ass shaking in time with the music. Shaking his head from the thoughts, he looked down at the floor. When the doors opened on floor 8, only Brian, AJ and Howie got out. Nick and Kevin were on the floor above.
“See you at 9 Nicky” AJ said grinning before the doors closed.
The ride to the next floor seemed like forever for Nick. Kevin’s eyes bore holes in his sides and he could feel himself getting hard. Nervously he played with the sleeves on his shirt until the doors opened once again. He shot out of the elevator and walked quickly to his room. Once inside he shut and locked the door. Mumbling to himself he headed to the shower.
He stood in the shower and let the hot water cascade over his body. He closed his eyes and tried to clear his head ready for the night ahead. When he began to get wrinkly he grabbed his shower kit. After tipping some gel into his hands, he rubbed them together until it had lathered into foam and then he started to wash himself. While he was washing, thoughts of Kevin floated into his head. He couldn’t help but wonder what Kevin looked like in the shower. Sure, he’d seen him get changed plenty of times, but not in the shower. A small moan jolted him from his thoughts. Scanning the room he found no one, only to realize the moan had come from him. All the thoughts of Kevin naked had made him hard. That was all he needed.
How was he supposed to pull any girl when he was sporting a raging hard-on? There was only one thing left he could do. He hadn’t done it in a while because he was always in a room next door to Kevin and he hadn’t felt the need to. He knew the others did it regularly but he didn’t. Until now that is. His hand reached down and he started stroking himself. He almost came straight away. He needed a woman. He’d been without too long now. As his hand pumped faster and his breathing became deep, there was a knock on the door. Groaning, he tried to ignore it. He needed to get off. He was so hard it was painful now.
“Nick open up” shouted AJ. “I know you’re in there Nicky now open up otherwise I’m just gonna walk in.”
Nick turned the shower off and grabbed a towel. Trying to hide how hard he was wasn’t easy. He opened the door for AJ and then went and sat down on the bed with his hands in his lap.
“What do you want AJ?” he mumbled.
“I’ve been locked out of my hotel room and I need somewhere to get changed.”
“That’s a crock of shit AJ and you know it.”
“Ok, I’m bored. None of the others want me around.”
“So you thought you’d come and annoy me instead?”
“Well, yeah. And by the looks of you” he said, glancing down into Nick’s lap, “I could help you out.”
Nick blushed. “I don’t know what you mean,” he said innocently.
“Sure you do Nicky,” he said, moving in closer to him. “I could help you get rid of your little problem.”
“I don’t need your help AJ.”
“But it’s more interesting that doing it yourself. Don’t you want someone to suck you Nick?”
